Day 448 to 454 6/1 keto diet 1/22/2017 to 1/28/2017

This week on keto was unsuccessful to say the least. I have not adjusted yet back to the high fat low carb diet. This is proving more of a challenge then I originally thought. The week started out with me in the mid 220 again. This weight puts me up twenty pounds from 4 months ago. That weight was also before I heart my knee running. Remember, I was training to run a half marathon. I think, I have a plan for the upcoming week to finally get back on the keto diet. To start, I am going to re-adjust my calories back up to 1900. This is where I was at last year when I plateaued. My job was also a desk job at this time last year. The other thing I will do is absolutely stay away from snacking after dinner.

The photos above do show some progress, but I am still not where I want to be. I was hoping to be down around 185 to 195 pounds by now. My thought is, I will have to work harder and eat smarter. My carb loading did not help either as my weight went back up by six pounds. The adjustments, I am going to make for the upcoming week will really help me start losing weight again.The key to weight loss is calories in then calories out.  This week I also made it to the gym all but one day.  Exercise is vital to a keto diet. I am back to lifting weight Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday. I am slowly getting back into the routine

I used to have before moving jobs and hurting my knee. The only thing really left, is to get the diet really back on track.In the next upcoming week should be interesting and challenging for myself. It will be huge, when I finally do get back on the diet and start losing weight again.

Day 441 to 447 6/1 keto diet 1/15/2017 to 1/21/2017

Well as promised, I am doing a weekly update for my keto diet. As expected it has been extremely slow getting restarted on my keto diet. This week was very rough to say the least. I started out the week at 226 pounds and saw some weight loss through the rest of the week. Being back on a consistent diet is going to be difficult to re-establish. Through out the day, my diet was perfect. After, dinner I noticed myself snacking on saltines. This obviously means I did not go into keto at all this past week. Sunday started out pretty well, but then led to snacking on crackers. This is going to be extremely difficult for me to get back on. I, am thinking it will be at least another three weeks before I can get back on this diet and start seeing weight loss.

So, at the end of the week I was down to 219 pounds. This all changed after my carb loading day. I came home extremely hungry on Friday. Instead of going straight to the gym, I went straight to the kitchen. This was a bad idea, I ended up pigging out on pita chips and whatever else I could find in the kitchen. Saturday was not too bad, I actually made it to the gym and had great workout. I was there for almost two hours, lifting and doing cardio. The diet seemed to be okay for a saturday evening but the scale in the morning that day said different about my keto carb loading day.

The keto diet is going more challenging to get back on the diet than starting it over a year ago. With some little adjustments in eating again, I know I can succeed. These next couple weeks will prove to be extremely challenging for myself to get back on track.

Day 407 to Day 440 6/1 keto diet 12/13/2016- 1/14/2017

Well it has been a really long time since I have post on m keto diet. As of 1/14/2017,  I feel my knee is rested enough to start heading back to the gym in full swing again. These past couple months, I have put on some weight. It is only twenty pounds, but to me that is a lot. In the upcoming weeks I hope to lose some of the weight I had gained. I am still aiming to get down below two hundred pounds. It will be slow going back on to the keto diet to say the least. My wife is in full support so that is really good.  Over the holidays I tried to watch what I ate and still enjoy some foods I rarely touched. After, this week, keto will be back in full swing and hopefully my progress will be back too.

Starting new on my keto blog for the New Year, I will change some things. Instead of blogging daily I will update weekly. To simply put it, I just do not have the time to update my blog daily. So starting with the next blog, I will be updating every seven days. It will be full of daily weigh in pictures and probably my daily diet. These first few weeks will be slow starting. I am hoping by March I will be back in full swing.

Day 404 6/1 keto diet 12/10/2016

Well, I guess the holidays are affecting my keto diet blog. I have really been slacking on keeping this blog update. It is the holiday time of the year and there is so much going on with getting ready for them.  To be honest, I have not really made much progress on weight loss. As of right now I think I am waiting until next year to be serious about the keto diet again. I think I deserved to have some fun this time of the year and enjoy eating. I mean who doesn’t enjoy eating way too much during the holidays. I think about it this way, if I can be under 225 starting January 1st, I should have no problem getting to my goal weight by June or even as early as May.  This would definitely be ideal for me, then I can concentrate on maintaining my weight.

For, breakfast I really loaded it up. I had eggs, bacon, sausage and some pepper jack cheese all mixed together. I also had oatmeal with brown sugar.  After that, I was lazy with using my fitness pal app and did not record anything. This really messes up anyone trying to diet like myself.

 

Day 399 6/1 keto diet 12/5/2016

I would say I am surprised about today and my keto diet but I would be lying. I new I had kept my calories extremely low all day Sunday. This effected the start of my work week as of this morning. Months ago, I had concentrated eating about 1200 calories on Sunday so that I would really be down by the end of the week. Eating this low of calories, seems to have some sort of jump start for a keto cycling diet. I think it really helped me out for a few months of doing that.

For breakfast this morning at 5am, I had three hard boiled eggs. Once again this is the easiest thing, I can cook in the morning. I had a mid morning snack of one scoop of banana cream pie whey protein from tiger fitness and 1 1/2 tablespoons of olive oil. For lunch, I had six ounces of chicken thigh meat and one cup guacamole. In the afternoon, I had another snack of one scoop banana cream pie whey protein from tiger fitness and 1 1/2 tablespoons of olive oil. After work I went to the gym and did a light leg workout. For dinner I had eight ounces of swai fish and a salad with ranch dressing.

To be honest attempting to diet or lose weight during the holidays is extremely difficult. I often wonder why people do it to themselves. Then, I look at myself and realize I am one of those individuals. The keto diet itself, is not for the weak. If you remember, you are cutting almost all carbohydrates out of your system, but luckily only for a short time. This can cause a lot of different psychological effects on people if they have not studied.  As for me, I know there is a light at the end of the tunnel. The light is my goal weight.

Day 396 6/1 keto diet 12/2/2016

Well as expected with this Friday on keto, I have not dropped any more weight. I am honestly no surprised at all, I have snacked just about every night after dinner. Some of this snacking involved eating whole cans of almonds. I really need to get my self control back so I can really concentrate on my goal weight for the new year. If I eliminate snacking I am pretty sure the weight will start coming off again. The other thing I really need to concentrate on is not over eating with the 24 hour carb load up, the friday to saturday time frame. I have been noticing myself over eating a lot on these days.

Today, I actually got up and enjoyed my breakfast. I cooked egg, proscutto, bacon, blue cheese and onions. I sauteed the onions in some butter, and cooked the meat separate then mixed the eggs and blue cheese in after everything else was cooked. Before going to the gym I drank one scoop of banana cream pie from tiger fitness and some C4 pre workout. We went to the gym, I worked back and shoulders. This workout, I new would hurt hours later but it just felt good to get into the gym again. I ended up lifting weight for about an hour. My knee is still acting a little weird, so I skipped cardio.

After the gym is where I completely killed the diet for the week. I came home and had four slices of cheese steak pizza. Then we went to go watch some fire works and ate again. We had garlic parmesan wings, sweet potato fries and popcorn shrimp. After that we came home had personal lemon pies. Then we watched a movie and popped popcorn with butter. So between the pizza and other food my diet die for for the week.

Day 394 6/1 keto diet 11/30/2016

I have reached another Wednesday on keto. I do have to say, I am very pleased after getting on the scale this morning. I have come down a few more pounds. Like, I have said before, ever little bit helps. Weight loss to me should not be a race at any means. The slower the weight comes off the better. This means if you stray off at all, the slower it will come back on. I still have strong faith I can make my goal weight by the beginning of end of spring to beginning of summer time frame. This would be some time after the new year being serious on the keto diet.

Well, I wish I had a change to the start of my keto breakfast. I had three eggs hard boiled, remember I eat breakfast around 5 am most mornings because of my work scheduled. I had a mid morning snack of one scoop of banana cream pie whey protein from  tiger fitness and 1 1/2 tablespoons of olive oil. For lunch, I had six ounce of chicken thighs and one cup of guacamole. In the afternoon I had another snack of one scoop of banana cream pie whey protein from tiger fitness and 1 1/2 tablespoons of olive oil. After work, I went to the gym, I just did about thirty minutes of cardio on the ellipitical.

Well, this is one of those days on the keto diet I was lazy. I forgot to update my dinner for my fitpal so I have no idea what I ate that night. I guess I am not at committed I was supposed to be yet back on keto. When, it comes to dieting you really need to keep track to determine how yo are doing. This really helps if you end up plateauing on a diet.

Day 392 6/1 keto diet 11/28/2016

Well, I have made it to another Monday on keto. For some reason this is is becoming more and more difficult to actually get back on the diet compared to this time last year. As of today my wife and I have joined a gym up here so hopefully I can get back on the weigh loss track. I have noticed that I have been snacking a lot after dinner. This is mostly on almonds for some reason. I do not know if I am just having hard time with appetite or something else. Well, you can see my weight below as well, it is not looking good to start this week.

I had mid morning snack of one scoop of banana cream pie whey protein from tiger fitness and 1 1/2 tablespoons of olive oil. For lunch, I had 6 ounces of pork tenderloin and 1 cup of guacamole. In the afternoon I had  another snack of one scoop of banana cream pie whey protein from tiger fitness and 1 1/2 tablespoons of olive oil. After work my wife and I went to join a local gym. Dinner, was two chicken thighs and a salad.

Even though, we joined the gym we did not workout. We are going to start back at the gym tomorrow. This should be an extremely interesting time. I have had over two months off from weight lifting. I am hoping my muscles can re-adjust to weight to this life style. Over, the next couple weeks, I am hoping to see significant gains back for my muscle mass. In the end only time will tell and my dedication. The keto cycling diet does depend on some strength training.

Day 388 6/1 keto diet 11/24/2016

Well today is Thanksgiving on keto.  I do not expect to lose much or an weight the rest of this week. I did not get on the scale this morning. Today is one of my favorite holidays. It is really a time to give thanks. I get to see family and friends. The other thing is I get to eat all kinds of food I normally do not eat. This, I consider to be one really long splurge from the keto diet. I could not even name all of the food that was there to begin with.

If you are considering a diet, regardless of type. I still would highly suggest paleo meals to go. This diet is similar to keto with exception of being not quite an almost zero carb diet like keto. Paleo is still eating meats, but it is also eating moderate to low amounts of carbohydrates. Paleo to go meals are great. They also taste great and are just exactly the right portion size as well.

Day 386 6/1 keto diet 11/22/2016

Once again, I prove following keto will help in weight loss. I am down a little bit of weight since yesterday. This is good for now, but remember this is the week of Thanksgiving. With a holiday this week, and one that is notorious for people over eating, I am not being optimistic about weight loss after tomorrow.  I guess my future in weight loss will have to be after the New Year. This would be after all holidays: Thanksgiving and Christmas. I think this would be a better time for some serious weight loss.

I started out the morning with breakfast three eggs hard boiled, the perfect keto breakfast.
